I have a few decades worth of experience with cats.  I started out with earning the trust of feral cats back in Humboldt Park. When I was finally old enough to be on my own, first thing I did was rent an apartment that would allow CATS!  I do TNR (trap/neuter/release) of ferals in my area and have a resident feral I’ve cared for since 2009.  I have my own indoor feline family, who is currently all healthy. I have cared for several of my cats with cardiomyopathy, inflammatory bowel, diabetes and renal failure.  I know the dedication that comes with love for feline family members.  A special bond forms with this kind of care.

My husband, Bill, will sometimes accompany me on jobs as he has a special way with cats, especially shy ones. He's gained the trust of our indoor feral cats, in one case even before me.  He's been key to caring for our cats as they developed serious medical conditions. However, when he comes on jobs with me his focus is to help play with and brush the kitties while I clean litter boxes and prepare meals before I can take over the playing and grooming. Some kitties just need that extra special attention that we are willing and happy to give.
